About The Author
Xingwu Liu is a scholar of cultural and medical anthropology whose scholarly practice is deeply shaped by his experiences of growing up in a remote village in Northeast China and his life in the world of global academic and professional engagement. He has been trained at Peking University and the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and has also been trained with a Fulbright Scholarship in the United States. His views are informed by broad international experience in the field of development and industry in Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and Europe. Looking past blinkered preconceptions, Liu manages to view civilizations as complex, adaptive systems, an intellectual model that has been developed over the course of decades of cross-cultural observations and syntheses.
Academic Background
Trained in cultural and medical anthropology, he studied at the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Peking University. His academic work has included teaching, research, and international exchange, including experience as a Fulbright scholar in the United States.
